BBC School Report Day

Our Y9 Press Team ambassadors learn how to report news

As part of the BBC’s “School Report” national initiative, a small group of Y9 pupils have been taking part in sessions which teach them how to report on the news. Topics covered include thinking about your target audience, facts versus bias, and how to structure your news report. As part of this programme, not only have the pupils been contributing general school news reports to our website but have also searched the web for exciting or local news stories and created their own reports based on these. Of particular interest also is their investigation into the use of homework at Bridgewater High School which required interviewing a small team of Y8 pupils on the matter.
