Year 12 Residential

For the past four years Appleton College has run a year 12 residential trip during the autumn term. This year, students were taken to Glaramara Activity Centre situated in the stunningly beautiful Borradale Valley in the Lake District. Students had a fantastic adventure and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They participated in a range of outward bound activities such ghyll scrambling, fell walking, raft building and climbing. The manner in which all the students participated in the activities was extremely impressive. Students who were afraid of heights climbed up walls and others demonstrated a great sense of adventure in jumping into plunge pools and climbing waterfalls. During the evenings, students participated in a quiz, talked about the day’s activities and enjoyed each other’s company. Students behaved in an exemplary manner; they were polite, curtious and conducted themselves in a mature way which impressed the centre staff as well as all the teachers who attended the trip. Students all commented that this experience will live long in their memories.
