YEAR 7 & 8 CELEBRATION DAY

On 21 May, a group of our Y7 and Y8 reading group members joined other schools from across Cheshire at the Storyhouse, Chester as part of the Cheshire Schools’ Book Award celebration day. CSBA is an annual book award celebrating teenage fiction and the joy and community of school reading groups, with pupils nominating and voting for their favourite books.

Pupils listened to some engaging and lively talks from short-listed authors Bea Fitzgerald, Ashley Hickson-Lovence and Nathanael Lessore. The authors talked about their own writing journeys and the inspiration behind their stories. Pupils were also able to chat to the authors, have their books signed, take part in book crafts and ask any questions about writing and being an author.

This was a truly inspiring day for all who attended!
