Transition

A very warm welcome to all our future Year 7 students at Bridgewater High School!
At Bridgewater, we know that moving up to secondary school is an exciting milestone — and it’s completely normal to feel a mix of nerves and anticipation. Please remember that you are not alone in feeling this way. Every other student joining Year 7 is experiencing the same emotions, and we’re here to support you every step of the journey.

The best advice we can offer is to get involved in Bridgewater life as much as you can. The more time you spend with us, the more confident and settled you’ll feel when September arrives.

To help you make a smooth transition, we’ve planned a range of opportunities for you to visit Bridgewater High School, meet some of your new teachers, and begin to find your way around before your first day. These experiences are designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and excited about the start of your secondary school adventure.
We also know that many students start thinking about their secondary school long before Year 6. That’s why we work closely with our partner primary schools, offering a range of transition activities to begin building relationships and familiarity from the earliest stages.

We can’t wait to welcome you into our Bridgewater community and begin this wonderful new chapter together.
