School Closure

School Closure
In the event of the short term closure of the school ( 1 to 5 days) work will be set on Satchel One as follows:
  •  Teachers will set the work for each lesson  as “Classwork” and title it with the date/lesson
  • The ‘Issue’ and ‘due’ dates for each lesson are the day of the closure
  • Estimated completion time should be no more than 1 hour – pupils do not need to spend any longer than this on the lesson
  • Pupils are encouraged to follow the normal timings of the school day where possible with regard to completing work. If, however, circumstances should be such that pupils need to complete the work at differing times than that of the scheduled lesson due to home circumstance, then they should feel free to do so
  • If there are any queries over the lesson, then in the first instance pupils should contact the relevant teacher for that lesson using their own school email address.
The email address for a pupil ‘ A Smith’ in y7 who started Bridgewater in September 2025 will be
For a pupil in Y8 it will be “24smitha@bridgewaterhigh.com
For a pupil in Y9 it will be “23smitha@bridgewaterhigh.com
For a pupil in Y10 it will be “22smitha@bridgewaterhigh.com
For a pupil in Y11 it will be “21smitha@bridgewaterhigh.com

Password issues for Microsoft Teams or any other technical issues should be directed to “ITSupport@bridgewaterhigh.com

All our staff email addresses follow the format:
“first initial.surname@bridgewaterhigh.com”
If the school should ever be closed for longer than a week, further communication will be provided regarding accessing lessons from home
Home learning for pupils who, for any reason, are having to work remotely:

Teachers will post work for the class on Microsoft Teams and where possible and appropriate may also provide a live lesson.

REMEMBER THAT A PUPIL’S TEAMS LOG-IN IS THEIR SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESS
(e.g. 20smitha@bridgewaterhigh.com)
FOLLOWED BY THEIR USUAL PASSWORD FOR LOGGING INTO A SCHOOL COMPUTER.

The pupil will then need to select the Team for that particular lesson to find the work. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT – DO NOT LOOK AT THE ACTIVITY FEED INSTEAD – pupils need to click on Teams and then go into the relevant Team at the start of the lesson. The work/live lesson should appear at the start of the lesson but please be patient as most teachers will simultaneously be teaching pupils in school also and will have to get them settled and registered.

  • Any queries about the work itself (including where pupils cannot seem to find the work for that lesson) should go to subject teachers.
  • Password issues for Microsoft Teams or any other technical issues should be directed to ITSupport@bridgewaterhigh.com.
