Cheshire Schools’ Book Award 2024

On 15 May, Bridgewater reading group members attended the Cheshire Schools’ Book Award 2024 at Winsford Academy along with schools from across Cheshire.

The Cheshire Schools’ Book Award is an annual book award celebrating teenage fiction and the joy and community of school reading groups. The award is entirely pupil-led, with pupils nominating and voting for their favourite books. The event was well attended by six authors in person and video messages from a further two authors. The winner of the Younger category was S.F. Said with Tyger and the winner of the Older category was Josh Silver, with HappyHead.

Pupils who attended said “it was an amazing event! The range of different authors and books was great”.
