FRIENDS OF BRIDGEWATER
The PTA at Bridgewater has had a long history of support for the school and has been instrumental in providing a range of new facilities and support for extra-curricular activity. Most notably, the PTA have funded the refurbishment of the school library at Lower School, bought canoes and supported our Duke of Edinburgh programme and many enrichment activities for example by funding transport costs for PE fixtures and providing equipment and materials for IT and Art clubs.
The principal fundraising activities for the PTA have historically been the operation of the uniform shop and through raffles and provision of refreshments at school events. With the transfer of the uniform shop to Bubble our new uniform provider, the PTA committee have reviewed their activities and organisation.
We want to make it as easy as possible for parents to get involved in supporting the school and reduce the amount of time spent on bureaucracy. We have discussed this with the school and come to the decision to close the formal charity, Bridgewater High School Parent Teacher Association and launch a new, less formal, organisation the “Friends of Bridgewater”. We would like to thank everyone who has supported the PTA in the past but feel that it is time to move on.
The aim now is to get as many people involved as possible in organising events for the school and raising as much money as possible.
If you would like to get involved, contact the group on the email email@example.com help us create a rejuvenated and vibrant organisation which aims to continue supporting Bridgewater and their pupils for many years to come.
