Aspirations at Priestley College
On Friday 7th February, a group of Year 8 students from Bridgewater High School had the exciting opportunity to visit Priestley College for a two-hour session on aspirations. This visit provided them with invaluable insights into their future career paths and the world of further education.
The session began with an engaging discussion where the students explored the wide array of potential careers available to them, as well as the different routes they can take to achieve their professional goals. Led by Adam Bird from Priestley College, the students were encouraged to think about their interests, skills, and ambitions, helping them start to plan their futures.
Following the discussion, the students were given a guided tour of the college’s facilities. The tour was a great opportunity for them to see first-hand what life is like at Priestley College and what the college offers in terms of courses and extracurricular activities.
One of the highlights of the visit was the chance to meet and chat with current Priestley College student ambassadors, many of whom are proud alumni of Bridgewater High School. The ambassadors shared their experiences of life after secondary school and provided helpful advice on how to succeed in further education. It was inspiring for our students to hear from those who were once in their shoes and are now thriving at college.
The Year 8 students were a real credit to Bridgewater High School, showing maturity and enthusiasm throughout the visit. They engaged actively in the discussions, asked thoughtful questions, and embraced the opportunity to learn more about their future options.
Overall, the trip to Priestley College was an enriching experience that gave our students a glimpse into the possibilities that await them after high school. We hope that this visit will inspire them to think ambitiously about their futures and continue to work towards their goals.
