Built for Business

A number of our KS3 pupils have been involved in an exciting project coordinated by Manchester City FC:

Over the past few months a cohort of Y8/9 pupils have been working with coaches from Manchester City FC’s community department. They have been working together on developing their understanding of some of the key skills required to succeed in the modern business environment. The students have been experiencing first hand what it is like to create a marketing initiative aimed at developing the fan-base at a premier league football club. This week our students presented a “Dragons’ Den” style pitch to senior members of the Manchester City FC community team.

One of the pupils involved, Leah C, said “I enjoyed ‘Built for Business’ because we learned how to do key things like showing Powerpoints in front of an audience. This would help because you might need to do a presentation when we are older. We also learned lots of things like how a city in the community works, how to set up an entertainment stand, and how to manage money and make profits.”

If you are interested in getting involved with this project next time, speak to Mr. Morrison.

Thanks to Manchester City FC for providing us with this opportunity.
