Careers Week Success
Our recent Careers Week was another huge success for Bridgewater!
We have had great feedback from staff , students and external visitors alike.
During the course of the week each student (over 1,500 students in total) was able to:
1. Hear about the many different types of pathways open to them from local colleges and universities.
2. Listen to a Murder Detective who talked about his career and the students were able to ask questions. Then they were able to hear about a Marketing specialist /Fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital and all the interesting and varied things their job allows them to do. The students really love to hear about different careers and ask lots of questions. In the past we have had an MP from the House of Commons , a Fashion Buyer from Milan , Engineers from NASA .
3. All 300+ year 11 students had a mock interview. 30+ volunteers gave them an opportunity to practise being interviewed.
4. Over 900 students were given the opportunity to talk to 25+ companies/organisations (over 50 people and a dog from the vet’s!) in our Careers Fair.
5. Skills sessions, CV sessions and so much more was delivered by our own tutors during the week.
Well done to everyone involved. Next year’s planning is in the pipeline already…
