Herrington takes gold
Josh Herrington (9CH) took gold in the ‘Cheshire & Open Athletics Event’ with an outstanding performance in the Pentathlon Competition
Josh continued his excellent summer of Athletics with yet another gold, but this time in the Pentathlon competition. Competing in the 800M, 80M hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump and the Shot Putt, Josh performed exceptionally well in all five disciplines with an impressive three 2nd place finishes, a 4th placed finish and an outstanding 1st place finish in probably his favourite event, the Hurdles. Each event carried a points’ tariff and when all the points had been calculated, Josh was way out in front of all the other competitors and was deserving of his Gold medal. What was even more remarkable about Josh’s success is the fact that he was competing in the age group above.
After an outstanding last few weeks of Athletics from the Great British National Team in Beijing, there is a real belief that Josh has the desire, determination and the ability to one day go on and be as successful as our current British Athletes and with his latest set of results, you certainly wouldn’t bet against him. We wish Josh all the best and look forward to seeing how he continues to develop.
