Y8 Football Success
Congratulations to our Year 8 Football Team for winning the Warrington Schools League:
On the 9th May our very talented football team travelled to Grappenhall Sports Club to play the cup final against Culcheth High School. At first Culcheth gave us a fright early on in the game as they went 1-0 up. However, our boys kept their heads up and managed to equalize. To no surprise Bridgewater then took the lead and made it 2-1. This gave the boys the confidence to score another three cracking goals to win the final 5-1.
Well done Thomas McKean (1), Freddy Garbutt (2), Max Lawrence (1) and Adam Prescott (1) who scored the goals in our thrilling win.
Their coach Mark Smith said “Once again the Year 8 Football team continued their excellent form throughout the season to finish the league with a convincing win…I would like to congratulate the lads on an excellent season and hope that they can carry this form into next year’s games.”
Congratulations to all the boys who played this year and hopefully Bridgewater can have further success throughout all our sports.
