Bridgewater Pupils Scoop Art Prize

Bridgewater pupils win all three prizes in their category in a region-wide art competition.

We are immensely proud to report that three Bridgewater pupils have won £175 in ‘ArtTastic’ – a local community art competition run by Cheadle-based finance provider, ‘Together’. Our winning artists, Ellie Griffiths, Lily Ward and Darcy Nolan, beat off competition from across Greater Manchester meaning that Bridgewater scooped all three prizes in this category! The winners will have their work displayed in a professional exhibition next year. The school also received an additional £250 for winning the category, which will be spent on art equipment. Art teacher, Mrs Silver, commented: “I am very proud of the students and delighted with the recognition for our school. It is great to see local employers reaching out to schools in this way and it has given the students a real sense of achievement.”

Judge Katherine Rosati said she was looking forward to hosting the ArtTastic winners’ exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery in February, whilst artist Pietra Castellani added that she had been impressed by the variety of work and the interesting interpretations.
