Year 8 Students’ Exciting Visit to Priestley College
Our Year 8 students had an enriching and exciting experience recently when they spent a morning at Priestley College as part of a GCSE and beyond aspirations session. The event aimed to inspire and motivate our young learners by giving them a glimpse of life after school and the wide range of opportunities available in further education.
During the session, students were introduced to various aspects of academic life at Priestley College, including the subjects on offer and the different paths they can pursue after their GCSEs. The goal was to help them start thinking about their future educational journey, and what they need to do now to achieve their goals. Our Year 8s were able to ask questions, explore subjects, and gain a better understanding of the importance of planning for the future.
Additionally, five of our Year 8 students had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a Rugby Drill Session led by Sport Ambassadors from Priestley College, who are currently working towards their coaching qualifications. The session was a perfect blend of fun and skill-building, giving our students a chance to enhance their rugby skills while being inspired by the sport ambassadors’ passion for coaching and sports development.
The morning was a fantastic experience for our students, and we are sure it has sparked new interests and aspirations for their academic and extracurricular futures. We look forward to seeing how this trip influences their mindset as they continue to plan and shape their educational journeys!
