USA meets EPA!

EPA Students take a bite out of The Big Apple:

Over the Easter break a group of EPA students travelled 3,340 miles to the city of New York. The trip has been running since 2007 and this year was organised by Mrs Parry from the Dance department. EPA students from year 10 and 11 enjoyed 4 days and 3 nights in The Big Apple. The group contained teenagers who have chosen to study Dance, Drama, Music and Art to GCSE level.

As part of the trip the students watched the highly acclaimed “School of Rock” musical on Broadway and were lucky enough to attend workshops led by Broadway stars from the show. In addition to this amazing experience they also got the chance to explore one of the most famous cities in America, absorbing the culture and the food! (Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Café being just a couple of the favourites).

The journey back was a little tiring with a 5 hour delay state-side, but the overall experience was not to be missed and hopefully will encourage more people to take an EPA subject to GCSE level.

Mr Tench accompanied the students and had a great time. His stand out memory was standing on top of the Empire State Building and as he puts it “I felt like I was looking down from the top of the world”. He is already looking forward to the next trip. Let’s hope New York is looking forward to welcoming more Bridgewater High School students!
